Benicolet

Our nearest village with local school, shops and pharmacy.  It has a Mayor who regularly makes announcements over a 'tannoy' system that can be heard almost a mile away - introduced by some characteristic Spanish music followed by "Attencion, Attencion" then what's happening locally, what's to be found in the market and anything else that might be of interest to locals or visitors.

Gandia

This is our closest large town and is well worth a visit with banks, a post office excellent shopping and buzzing nightlife. There is a busy port surrounded by quaint bistros where you can sample the exotic delights of Spanish (and other) cuisine, and not far away stunning Mediterranean beaches where you can soak up the sun and enjoy a dip in the sea.

Oliva

There is an excellent market and a touch of local atmosphere in Oliva, only about 30 minutes from Benicolet. Also in the town are several Chinese bargain stores where you can pick up unusual items for a small price.
