A huge thank you for all your hospitality and a holiday I will never forget. Having spent six nights in The Castle I am now reassured that I have a sense of humour and an adventurous spirit. On the first night it was clear that this was going to be "different". The Castle is not "en suite" and in fact the loo and shower are across the courtyard next to the house so for anyone who doesn't relish the thought of a 20 second midnight hike to answer the call of nature, you should go for one of the self catering caravans with en-suite.
To be fair, it wasn't Karen's or Sean's fault that I drunk the litre of wine that they so generously made available. Well that isn't quite true - what they said was "help yourself at the bar" so I took advantage and did exactly that! With wine costing less than a Euro for a litre, can you blame me?
Nor was it their fault that I had to get up at 3am to visit the loo at which point I was attacked by the mosquito net! Having become seriously entangled, not quite sure of my bearings, and then exhausted the English Dictionary of Profanities, I eventually broke free and set off on the twenty second stroll to the loo. However my encounter with the mosquito net taught me a lesson and as I set off to the house of relief, I resolved that I should keep strictly to the path and not attempt to walk across anything shiny, such as the swimming pool or the jacuzzi.
Now don't get me wrong, this is not a complaint! I have never enjoyed a more relaxing or interesting holiday in a more beautiful place at so small a price! All I will say is that whatever you're used to when on holiday, don't expect it at Campo Paraiso because as it says on the website, this is a holiday with a difference and more than worth the effort.
In the words of Arnold Whatshisname... "I'll be back".
Thanks folks for a fantastic holiday.
